Bryan Herta Autosport team start IMSA season with Daytona podium 30.01.2023: Drivers Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins started their IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season by taking a podium from the four-hour race at Daytona International Speedway (January 25-27).

Drivers Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins started their IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season by taking a podium from the four-hour race at Daytona International Speedway (January 25-27).


The pair, sharing one of three Elantra N TCR run by Bryan Herta Autosport, clinched third place in the TCR class after relying on a combination of the performance of the car and the strategy by the team.


Taking the final stint of the race, Wilkins started with the lead after making his final pitstop before the other front runners. He was able to hold the lead for several laps following a restart, but was ultimately shuffled back before the end.


 
On their debut with the Elantra N TCR Deily Motorsports scored a fourth place finish with their #70 entry – driven by Jacob Deily and Tyler Maxson. Maxson was able to lead multiple laps for the team that only ran their first TCR race – with a Veloster N TCR – at the end of the 2022 season.


 
Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens finished sixth in class in their Bryan Herta Autosport entry. In the opening part of the race Gottsacker had been part of the lead battle. However, a problem during the first pitstop – though quickly resolved – was enough to drop them down the order. From there they were able to avoid further issues to make their way back up the standings.
