Two highly exclusive race cars have been added to the portfolio of ALL TIME STARS, Mercedes-Benz Classic’s marketplace for classic vehicles. The Formula 1 MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 W04 race car is the car in which Lewis Hamilton won the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix and secured three other podium places.



 The AMG-Mercedes C-Class touring car (W 203) is part of the generation of DTM vehicles in use between 2004 and 2007, vehicles which earned AMG-Mercedes two driver’s championships and two brand championships.

Race cars in Mercedes-Benz Classic ALL TIME STARS marketplace

MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 W04, 2013



The race car, first presented in February 2013, was driven by Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton over the course of the season. Lewis Hamilton was the first British Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 works driver since Stirling Moss back in 1955.



 In 2013 the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 team chalked up three wins, nine podium places and eight pole positions and finished the season in 2nd place in the constructors’ championship. The ALL TIME STARS vehicle was driven by Lewis Hamilton in 2013, and took him to victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix on 28 July 2013. Lewis Hamilton also earned another three podium positions in this car.



The basic concept of the F1 W04 represented a significantly refined evolution of the previous season’s car. The race car’s hallmark features include a new front wing design, consisting of five elements, and a second-generation Coanda exhaust at the rear.



The F1 W04 has thrust arm suspension at the front and strut rod suspension at the rear to optimise the life and performance of the tyres. The engineers and designers made the rear end very compact. And instead of the stepped nose cone of its predecessor, the F1 W04 has an aerodynamically more advantageous vanity panel.

AMG-Mercedes C-Class touring car (W 203), 2004


2004 saw the introduction of silhouette cars based on four-door saloons in DTM, a championship which had relaunched in 2000 under the new name “Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters”. These replaced the two-door coupés which had been used during the initial years. In the DTM starting line-up for the star brand was the AMG-Mercedes C-Class touring car based on model series W 203. The ALL TIME STARS example of this model was used as a test vehicle (T-Car), not in official DTM races.



The 2004 C-Class touring cars have a structural spaceframe with a steel roof and side walls into which the safety cell for the driver is fitted. The external trim and detachable parts are in lightweight but highly resistant carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The new racing touring car was powered by the V8 engine which had already proved its worth since 2000 in the DTM car based on the Mercedes-Benz CLK.



The C-Class touring car underwent further improvements for the 2005 season, e.g. the vehicle weight was reduced by 30 kilograms. At the same time both the body length and the wheelbase were increased. In 2005 Gary Paffett won the championship – and the following year Bernd Schneider became DTM champion for the fifth time in cars from this model series. In both years AMG-Mercedes also won the brand championship.
