It’s the final countdown! There’s now just one week to go until The British Motor Show 2022 in association with cinch opens its doors at Farnborough International and excitement is at fever pitch, as the organisers, star cars and celebrity guests get ready to deliver a car event like no other before.



After all, the event – which runs from August 18-21 - is the greatest car show on Earth, with new cars, classic cars, supercars, thrilling live action, motoring celebrities, stunt shows, test drives, breath-taking passenger rides and interactive features that no other car event can come close to matching.



It’s an incredible-value day out for the entire family and an absolute must for the Summer Holiday calendar.



With stars including Car SOS hosts Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw, automotive TV pundit Mike Brewer, Olympian Iwan Thomas, YouTube sensation Yanni, the amazing Paul Swift stunt show and a host of hands-on interactive features never seen at other automotive events, the British Motor Show continues to build on its mission to reinvent the concept of the motor show and make it a thrilling family event – something which was turned on its head last year when over 47,000 people flocked into our halls.



This year, over 70,000 guests are expected and tickets are selling faster than ever, with VIP tickets approaching sell-out and guests encouraged to pre-book and avoid the queues or risk of selling out on the day.



We’ve brought back all the best bits that you enjoyed so much in 2021, including Stunt Shows, Supercar Displays, Group Tests, Driving Experiences and great guest interviews with Tim and Fuzz. But we’ve added even more for 2022 including The Bridgestone Arena in association with Kwik Fit, dedicated to Motorsport, ifeaturing the Shred Shed Drift Show, Petrolheadonism live and even a Formula one car in the Live Arena.



The cinch Live Arena will be hosted by Mike Brewer, joined this year by Olympian Iwan Thomas. One of the show’s main focal points, over four days the cinch Live Arena will see a mixture of Stunt Shows, Classic Car Parades, our Supercar Showdown, parachute displays, Guinness World Record Attempts and our end of day show, the CAR-monweath games, pitting celebrities against each other top gear style.



Twice daily, Paul Swift’s stunt team will wow the crowds with a stunt extravaganza, featuring sideways and two-wheel driving and our very special “Britalian Job” stunt show.



However, if you’re coming along to find out more about what your next car might look like, or to hear about the latest automotive technology, we have a fantastic line up in The IMI Tech Theatre too. We’ll be helping answer all your questions on the latest automotive technology and debunking some of the myths around EV’s. The AA will also be on hand with a Car Clinic, answering all and any motoring related questions.



Over 25 manufacturers are represented at the show, which takes place over a much greater area than the 2021 event and has new halls alongside the already successful 2021 layout. The last time as many different manufacturers’ models were exhibited was at Excel in 2008, when the last British International Motor Show took place.



The show will also have at least three exclusive model reveals, including an exclusive first opportunity to see a new British-designed and British-built electric van – proof that the Show is being seen as a real opportunity for international launches thanks to its high footfall and media profile.



The British Motor Show will also have more than 20 models available to test drive live at the event, plus a dazzling array of classics and supercars – things that weren’t ever seen at British Motor Shows of old.



Over 250 exhibitors have already signed up to the event, from manufacturers to retailers, tech companies, modifiers and marketplace retailers. More exclusive launches include an important new piece of technology set to be exclusively revealed by the AA for the first time.



The British Motor Show CEO, Andy Entwistle, said: “With just four weeks to go until we open our doors, the excitement is reaching fever pitch – as are ticket sales. The 2022 show is destined to bigger, better and busier than it was in 2021 and were getting amazing feedback already from exhibitors.



“Within two hours of around 60 per cent of the British population, The British Motor Show is not only a ‘must-attend’ date for the diary, but it also offers unrivalled value compared to most family days out – just what families need when the cost-of-living is shooting up.



“We know just how much families are feeling the pinch at the moment, so we made sure our ticket prices were capped at 2021 levels for this year’s event, but that hasn’t stopped us making our kid-friendly and family activities bigger, better and more engaging. Indeed, there’s even more to do for families than ever before.



“Our plan from the outset was to reinvent The British Motor Show and make it so much more than just halls full of cars. Instead, we’ve put together the most interactive, exciting and engaging automotive event on the calendar whilst maintaining incredible value for money.”

    2021’s Show was the first after a 13-year hiatus and its return in 2022 promises an even bigger event, featuring even more interactive content, with manufacturers and exhibitors having already booked stand space following the show’s successful return


    The 2021 Show featured new, used and classic cars, supercars, driving displays and marketplace sellers, with the halls and outdoor areas of the show packed throughout with more than 47,000 visitors praising its size, value, layout and content.


    Celebrity guests included Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw from Car SOS, TV motoring pundit Mike Brewer, presenter Vikki-Butler Henderson and YouTube sensation Yianni, who mixed happily with the crowds.


    A Live Stage and Live Arena featured the Paul Swift Stunt Show, the British Army Lightning Bolts parachute display team, Car Football, supercar and motorsport displays, with many weekend pass holders returning for a second day to make sure they didn’t miss any of the action.
