16:14 Quads: Top 6 in the general standings after stage 9

Despite a difficult day, Ignacio Casale saved what mattered: his place and lead in the general standings. He is still at the summit with a lead of 22’39' over Sergio Lafuente. Third place Rafal Sonik trails him by 46’28'. Only the three men who occupy the provisional podium are within the same hour.

Fourth placed Sebastian Husseini lies 3:07’51' behind Casale on the time sheets, but still way ahead of Mohammed Abu-Issa, who trails the leader by 7:08’24'. As for Jeremias Gonzales Ferioli, he lies 9:31’25' behind the top of the general standings.

        15:52 Quads: Gallegos Lozic fifth

The Chilean finishes in fifth in the end today, after having come close to the virtual podium in the last few hours, before being caught at the end of the stage. He finishes 33’10' behind the day’s quickest man, Sebastian Husseini.

        15:32 Quads: Husseini wins!

With a time of 5:46’01, Sebastian Husseini has incontestably dominated this stage, relegating his quickest adversary to 24’58' behind.

This man is surprisingly Ignacio Casale, who returned like a bat out of hell after major problems at the start of the special. The third place finisher is Rafal Sonik, 25’30' behind the Dutchman, and only 27' ahead of fourth placed Sergio Lafuente. Gallegos Lozic has not yet finished, but is likely to join the top 5.

14:24 Quads: Sonik moves back into second position after 335 km

Nearing the finish, in less than 100 km, Sebastian Husseini is the unquestionable leader with a race time of 4:31’27', but Rafal Sonik moves back into second position, 16’22' behind the leader, with an advantage of 25 seconds over Chilean Gallegos Lozic, who is third.

Sergio Lafuente lies in fourth, 19’46' behind Husseini, ahead of Ignacio Casale, 21’58' behind the stage leader.

13:37 Quads: Husseini alone in front at CP3

After 320 kilometres, Sebastian Husseini is all alone, with a lead of 15’46' over Chilean Gallegos Lozic. Rafal Sonik trails by 15’54' and Sergio Lafuente in fourth lies 19’32' behind the leader.

For the moment relegated to 22’14' behind the day’s fastest man, Ignacio Casale seems to have contented himself with controlling the gap between himself and Lafuente to preserve his first place in the general standings.

12:28 Quads: Gallegos Lozic moves into second

The Chilean rider now occupies second place, 10’11’’ behind Sebastian Husseini. Rafal Sonik is third, 11’11' behind the current leader. Sergio Lafuente occupies fourth place, 12’59' behind Husseini.

        11:50 Quads: Casale in difficulty

The Chilean, leader of the quad general standings, is encountering problems that are causing him to lose a lot of time. Following his halt in the first third of the special, he has continued to leak seconds and minutes.

After 201 km of the stage, he trails the current leader by 22’37' and his main rival in the general standings, Sergio Lafuente, by 16 minutes. Yesterday evening, the gap between them was 21’40'.

11:41 Quads: Husseini opens up a gap at CP1

After 201 kilometres, Sebastian Husseini seems to be breaking away. He now has a lead of 8’36' over his main pursuer and Sergio Lafuente and 8’46' over Chilean Gallegos Lozic.

Rafal Sonik is fourth, 9’37' behind the Dutchman. However, confirmation is still needed of the losses suffered by Ignacio Casale who trailed by 13 minutes at the previous time check point.

11:22 Quads: First quad reaches CP1

Sebastian Husseini has just completed the first 201 km of the day’s route in 2:36’31'. He is the sole quad rider to have reached this point so far.

10:44 Quads: Husseini alone out in front after 124 km

We now know that Ignacio Casale endured a forced stop, probably due to a puncture. As a result, he has lost almost 15 minutes, leaving Sebastian Husseini alone in the lead of the quad special. Husseini leads Lafuente byt 3’14'. Chilean Gallegos Lozic is now third, 5’05” behind the Dutchman, ahead of Rafal Sonik, 6’43' behind the stage leader.

09:53 Quads: Technical problems for Casale

A puncture or worse? It is not clear yet and will depend on for how long Ignacio Casale is at a standstill having stopped 7 minutes ago after 100 km of the Special. As a reminder, Casale is the general standings leader in the quad category.

09:24 Quads: Husseini and Casale neck and neck after 39 km

The Dutchman now leads the stage in the quad category, but only by 5 seconds ahead of the Chilean after 39 km. Behind them, Sergio Lafuente has already lost 1’38' to the stage leader whilst Rafal Sonik trails by 1’42'. As often has been the case in the last few days, fifth place is occupied by Chilean Gallegos Lozic, 1’58” behind Husseini.
