Since the creation of the RACECAR SERIES in 2009, the affirmed goal of the organizers has always been to be closer to their American model, offering public a great show around a high-level competition.

The quality of the job done, the development of the series – organized under the aegis of the FIA – and the excellent contacts built with the American executives led EURO-RACECAR to enter the NASCAR family, having officially became a Touring Series since the 11th of January 2012.

To set up such an agreement, Jerome and Anne Galpin, the creators of EURO-RACECAR NASCAR TOURING SERIES, attended to several meetings at the historical birthplace of NASCAR, Daytona, to talked about the different aspects of this agreement.

Thus, after a meeting reserved to track operators where organization of events was mentioned, every day meetings with executives of all different services were set up: communication, marketing, juridical, merchandising…

They also had the opportunity to be introduced to Mike Helton, President of NASCAR and Lesa Kennedy, Vice-chairwoman of NASCAR, also President of International Speedway Corporation, who owns in particular the Daytona International Speedway, and grand-daughter of Bill France Sr, founder of NASCAR.

Taking the opportunity of the Speedweeks and the Daytona 500, the launching event of the NASCAR Sprint Cup’s 2012 season, the organizers of the EURO-RACECAR spent the whole week in Florida to set up the details of their newly labeled NASCAR TOURING SERIES Championship. A European premiere to follow from the 6th to the 9th of April during the opening event, the NOGARO 200.

“Following the signature of the long-term agreement between TEAM FJ and NASCAR in January, we took the opportunity of the Speedweeks to come in Daytona and set up the basis of our collaboration”, said Jerome Galpin, manager of the series.

“We also worked a lot on the huge file of TOURS SPEEDWAY, the first ever oval race in Europe of a NASCAR TOURING SERIES which will happen the 7th and 8th of July 2012. It was a very instructive week. There’s really a joint goodwill to make EURO-RACECAR NASCAR TOURING SERIES grow to become a first level series in Europe”

“The partnership between TEAM FJ and NASCAR is huge and goals to develop the series”, added Anne Galpin, Administrative Manager.

“It includes consulting to get benefit of the NASCAR’s 60 years of experience and expertise. All the executives are 100-involved. But it’s also important to keep in mind that management and organization of the EURO-RACECAR NASCAR TOURING SERIES are solely under the responsibility of TEAM FJ and the FIA regulations.”
