Attractive and fair racing at a predictable costs: these aspects form the basis, on which the ADAC is reorganising its successful youth development programme in Formula racing from the 2023 season.


With the goal once again being to allow talented youngsters from Germany to make the step up to higher classes of Formula racing and ultimately professional motorsport, the ADAC Formula Junior Team will line up in the FFSA Formula 4 Academy next year.



Two young drivers will represent the ADAC Formula Junior Team in the 21 races that form the French Formula 4 series. Applications for a place in the ADAC Formula Junior Team for 2023 can be made online now at adac.de/motorsport. The deadline for applications is 13th January 2023.



“We have a lot of talented motorsport athletes in Germany. However, in recent years a large number have been unable to make the step up to Formula racing due to the very high costs involved.


For this reason, we are striking out in a new direction: with the new ADAC Formula Junior Team, we are creating an uncomplicated route into Formula racing for young drivers.



The first step, the central pillar of the starts in the FFSA Formula 4 Academy, guarantees equal opportunity and cost transparency for two talented youngsters from Germany. Looking to the future, we are striving to expand the cooperation with the FFSA,” said ADAC Sport President, Dr. Gerd Ennser.

Our first collaboration as part of the Euroseries Formula 3 in the mid-2000s has been a success. The 2023 calendar for the FFSA Formula 4 Academy in France consists of seven events, each featuring three races. The central running of the standard Mygale chassis, powered by 1.4-litre turbo engines from Renault, guarantees equal opportunities and transparent costs. Formula 1 supplier Pirelli is tyre partner of the French Formula 4 series.



Interested drivers born between 2006 and 2008 have until 13th January 2023 to apply for one of the positions online at www.adac.de/motorsport .

The drivers must have no more than one year of experience in Formula racing. As well as the provision of the second generation of Formula 4 car from Mygale, the participation fee of € 99,000 (plus € 9,000 for insurance) also covers the 21 races in the French Formula 4 championship.


The fee also includes simulator sessions, three pre-season test days and a set of Pirelli tyres for each test, as well as two test days organised by the FFSA Formula 4 championship and access to FFSA Formula 4 Hospitality. A racing overall and official apparel of the ADAC Formula Junior Team will also be provided.



ADAC will not be accepting entries for ADAC Formula 4 for the 2023 season.
