Daniel Rowe (ZA) and Keagan Masters (ZA) again demonstrated the qualities of the Volkswagen Jetta at round three of the Global Touring Cars South Africa (GTC). Rowe moved into the lead shortly after the start of race one at the Killarney Raceway in Cape Town (ZA), and went on to take the chequered flag. In doing so, he repeated last year’s success, when he claimed his maiden GTC victory in the shadow of Table Mountain.

In race two, it was the turn of team-mate Masters to shine. The reigning GTC2 champion missed out on his first GTC win by just one second, crossing the finish line in second place behind championship leader Simon Moss (ZA, Audi). Masters lies second in the overall standings, followed by Rowe. Volkswagen tops the Manufacturer standings after three of eight race weekends.
In GTC2, everything went to plan for Bradley Liebenberg (ZA) in Killarney – at first. The rookie claimed his fifth win in five races in the Golf GTI. However, he was forced to retire from race two after a collision. Liebenberg continues to lead the championship. The GTC is back in action on 15 and 16 June with round four at the Aldo Scribante Circuit in Port Elizabeth (ZA).
