.. Liebenberg wins again

At the fourth event of the Global Touring Cars South Africa (GTC) in Port Elizabeth, Keagan Masters (ZA) finished the first race in second place in his Volkswagen Jetta. Suffering from flu, team-mate Daniel Rowe (ZA) only just missed out on the podium in fourth place.
The second race began with the grid in reverse order and the two Volkswagen drivers claimed fourth and sixth places. As the times for both races on a weekend are added together to produce an overall result for GTC events, Masters and Rowe finished in second and fourth positions.
However, a 20-second penalty for overall leader Johan Fourie (ZA, BMW) pushed each Jetta driver up by one place, allowing them to celebrate finishing in first and third positions. After four of eight events, Masters remains in second place overall and Rowe is in third.
In the GTC2 class, Brad Liebenberg (ZA) continued the successful form of recent events and won the first race of the weekend – his sixth win in eight races. His compatriot Adrian Wood crossed the line in third place. The two Golf GTI drivers claimed a one-two result in the second race as Wood finished first and Liebenberg secured second place.
Liebenberg, who is also competing in the Volkswagen Polo Cup this year, remains ahead of Wood at the top of the standings. The fifth race of the Global Touring Cars South Africa (GTC) will take place on 26th and 27th July at the Zwartkops Raceway in Centurion (ZA).
