Producing a mature performance in Sunday’s reverse grid contest, the JHR Developments driver tallied his second victory in as many rounds to maintain his championship challenge in both the overall Drivers’ and Rookie Cup competitions.



Getting dialled into the rollercoaster 1.27-mile Fife venue during practice, the teenager - who is backed by Quenched Drinks and Salt Recruitment - endured a frustrating qualifying on Saturday morning.



An off-track excursion on the third lap at the infamous chicane resulted in performance degrading floor damage to the car. Under the circumstances, a grid position of 12th was all that could be achieved.  



Race one would see the title contender underline his growing racecraft reputation as he made progress in what was a frenetic bout. Keeping his nose clean, Cresswell made his way up to eighth before a red flag brought things to an early end.



Lining up in fourth for race two, the 15-year-old once again got a great start, charging into second place with a bold move around the outside of Duffus Dip. Cresswell moved into the lead heading into lap two after getting a good run of the hairpin.



Once out front, Cresswell was never challenged for the remainder of the 20-minute bout as he maintained a one second gap all the way to the chequered flag.



Bringing his weekend to a close in race three - broadcast live on ITV4 - Cresswell made it three points finishes from three races. Making several moves during the opening stages, the Surrey-based racer settled into a groove and brought the car home in ninth.



McKenzy Cresswell: “Overall it’s been another good weekend; I’ve scored points in all three races and scored my second win of the season - which I’m stoked about!



“After what was a tough qualifying session the focus was about maximising the opportunity that the reverse grid race was going to give us. I was able to make a good start, pull a couple of moves early on and once out front it was just about managing the gap to those behind me.



“JHR Developments worked their socks off all weekend so it was nice to repay them with some silverware as well; they’re the best team on the grid!



“With the points we scored in races one and three as well, it has been a solid haul and we go back to Thruxton still very much in title contention. I’m looking forward to going back and seeing if we can build on the results we had there earlier in the year.”



Next on the F4 British Championship certified by FIA - powered by Ford EcoBoost calendar is a return to the fastest circuit in the UK, Thruxton, for Rounds 16, 17 and 18 on August 28/29.
