The Giulia ETCR, after the podium conquered at Motorland Aragón and the double win in the Copenhagen round, confirmed itself at the top in Budapest, where Philipp Eng has taken the second final place, thanks to the victory obtained in the DHL Super Final A.



The Austrian, despite only making his second appearance in the series, has already collected 143 points in the championship and is ninth in the standings.



The championship, which is heading towards the last stage of the season scheduled for October 17 on the innovative circuit of Pau-Arnos, which replaces Korea on the calendar, still has the chance to see a Romeo Ferraris driver as champion.



Rodrigo Baptista is fifth thanks to the 197 points collected so far, and is mathematically fighting for the first title of the electric series dedicated to touring cars. Also, fifth in the Hungarian weekend rankings, Digo picked up another victory in Round 1 Battle 1 - Pool B.



A contact during the DHL Super Final B prevented instead Luca Filippi from remaining in the title race. The Piedmont-born, who had recovered with an excellent start from the third row fighting for the top positions, was brutally hit from behind halfway through the race. Despite Luca's efforts to complete the race safely after a tire blew following the contact, the race stewards decided not to classify him.



Luigi Ferrara's debut in the league was positive. Arriving in Hungary to replace Oliver Webb, racing at the concurrent 24 Hours of Le Mans, Gigi immediately felt at ease with the Giulia ETCR, collecting 36 points in total.

“I cannot say that I am completely satisfied with the final result we have achieved, because the potential of our car was great. Since free practice we have achieved the best time managing to put our four riders in front of field, a record that we take home with pride, like the first double win in the history of the championship obtained in Denmark.


It was not an easy weekend because we had to face a bit of bad luck and adversity, with a Time Trial that put our drivers to the test, demonstrating how high the level of the championship is. Rodrigo in a shrewd and intelligent way took home some other points that allow him to stay in the fight for the title.


Philipp was able to extract the full potential of our car, as did Gigi, whom I want to thank for his contribution in his one-off appearance with us. On the other hand, I am very sorry for the decision taken against Luca, who unfortunately was not allowed to collect the points scored on the track.



It somehow adds insult to injury, but this does not nullify the great work done so far, and indeed will allow him to push hard in France, without having to think for the drivers' championship”.
