Race 1 winner Hadrien David lined up on pole for the sixth race of the 2022 season with Rookie Pepe Marti alongside. Race winner in Abu Dhabi, Gabriele Minì lined up in P3, but 3Y by R-ace GP’s Gabriele Bortoleto was demoted from P4 to P9, after a penalty for an incident with Dilano van’t Hoff in Race 2.



Off the start, Marti briefly stole the march on pole-sitter Hadrien David by taking the line into Turn 1, but the Frenchman snatched back the lead. Behind the pair, Gabriele Minì initially held on to third until Isack Hadjar and Jak Crawford barged past, dropping the Italian down to fifth in the order.



Minì fought back reclaiming fourth from Crawford, who then went on the attack. The safety car briefly interrupted their battle when Evans GP Academy’s David Morales stopped on track, but immediately resumed at the restart.



With Crawford fully focused on passing Minì, Dino Beganovic – who had gained ground from his P8 grid position - saw his chance and snatched fifth in the order. Behind them, Rookie Sebastian Montoya clipped Paul Aron in the heat of battle, the Estonian dropping down the order as a result.



Mid-way through the race, Marti was holding onto David’s tail, the Spaniard the fastest man on track but unable to find a way to break through the Frenchman’s defenses. Likewise, Minì was on the tail of Hadjar but suddenly came under fire from Beganovic. The Italian fought back with a superb defense, giving no quarter to the Swede and maintaining the racing line.



David crossed the line to take a well-deserved second season victory, with Marti just 0.359 of a second behind and claiming his fourth consecutive Rookie win, and Hadjar taking third. Second Rookie was Hitech GP’s Joshua Dufek ahead of team mate Leonardo Fornaroli. In the Masters Trophy class, Abu Dhabi Racing by Prema’s Khaled Al Qubaisi took his fifth win in six races ahead of Pinnacle Motorsport’s Salih Yoluç and BlackArts Racing’s Thomas Luedi.
