A tenth-place finish in Race 1 put BlackArts Racing’s Pierre Louis Chovet on pole for the penultimate race of the season courtesy of the top-ten reverse grid, with Dilano van’t Hoff lining up alongside. Chovet got a lightning start but so did Gabriele Minì behind, the Italian quickly challenging for the lead.



Behind them a frenzied five-way battle ensued from which Oliver Bearman emerged third in the order ahead of Isack Hadjar and Paul Aron, with Hoff down in sixth ahead of Patrik Pasma.



As Minì homed in on Chovet up front, further down the order Jak Crawford came under fire from Dino Beganovic, the Swede giving no quarter in his determination to get by the American, twice powering around the outside and the second time making it stick. Seconds later disaster struck for Crawford, who slowed and eventually came to a halt on track.



The incident triggered a brief safety car intervention and, when racing resumed, Chovet wasn’t able to shake off the tenacious Minì who left the track as he snatched the race lead. The Italian was immediately ordered by race officials to hand back the place to Chovet, while behind, Aron and Bearman made contact, both cars spinning out and coming to a stop.



The safety car was called out for a second time, with Chovet now leading the field from Minì, with Pasma in third ahead of Hadjar and Hoff, while Leclerc had climbed to sixth having found his way past Beganovic.



The second restart was as dramatic as the first, with Minì again snatching the lead with 11 minutes remaining and Chovet plummeting down the order.



 Hadjar headed to the pits with a damaged front wing, eventually rejoining to finish in the classification. Beganovic had already claimed second ahead of Leclerc at the restart, while a lap later Marti got by Hoff to go fourth overall and lead Rookie.



In a last lap thriller, Beganovic closed up to Minì, throwing everything at the Italian all the way to the flag. Minì kept his head though, crossing the line a little over a tenth of a second ahead of the determined Swede, with Leclerc taking the final podium. Marti, meanwhile, had put in another extraordinary performance, the 16-year-old fourth overall and winning Rookie from a P12 start.



Rookie Hoff was fifth ahead of Michael Belov, series newcomer and Rookie Sami Meguetounif of Evans GP Academy, Chovet and the 3Y Technology by R-ace GP pair of Lorenzo Fluxá and Oliver Goethe taking the final championship points.



In the Master Cup, Salih Yoluç took the win, but second place for Khaled Al Qubaisi was enough for the Abu Dhabi Racing by Prema driver to seal the class title. Thomas Luedi, who had held a late-race spin superbly to rejoin the fray, finished third in class.
