Campedelli returns as Llarena and Herczig join Team MRF Tyres for 2022 FIA European Rally Championship season




After two years of intense development, MRF Tyres takes the next step in the commitment to top line rallying.



The 2022 approach sees a new driver line up for the FIA ERC season with all three drivers rallying a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.



Simone Campedelli returns with Tania Canton after their successful 2021 FIA ERC campaign where they showed great pace and provided important data for the development of the tyres.



They are looking forward to the challenge of a full season in the FIA ERC and continuing his career into Europe.



Spaniard Efrén Llarena joins Team MRF Tyres with codriver, Sara Fernández. The Spanish duo enter the 2022 season on a high after taking second position overall in the Driver’s Championship and first in the Codriver’s Championship in the 2021 FIA ERC.



The third driver is Hungarian ace, Norbert Herczig with Slovak, Igor Bacigal in the codrivers seat. The Hungarian pair have gained pace in the FIA ERC over the last couple of seasons after achieving Championship success in the Hungarian Rally Championship.



Fans will be able to see the three drivers across the entire 2022 FIA ERC season, that takes place over eight rounds with a combination of gravel and tarmac roads.



The Championship gets underway with a Portuguese double header with the Rally Serras de Fafe e Felgueiras getting the season underway on the famous gravel roads of Fafe. The first round takes place on March 12-13.



Over the season break, the Team MRF Tyres has been hard at work to continue the development of the tyre ahead of the 2022 season and registration in the FIA European Rally Championship.



The move comes after two season of development in the FIA ERC that saw multiple podium positions and stage wins. In addition, Team MRF Tyres enters the 2022 season having won the Italian Rally Championship – Gravel and the Finnish Rally Championship last year.
