The Bulgarian driver joins Campos Racing to contest the 2022 F4 Spain season with new Tatuus T-021 machinery
Campos Racing is delighted to announce that karting talent Nikola Tsolov will compete with a new Tatuus T-021 cars in the 2022 Formula 4 Spain Championship under the team’s banner. Tsolov becomes the fourth driver to be added to the Campos Racing stable in the F4-based racing series after Filip Jenić, Georg Kelstrup and Hugh Barter.
Tsolov was born in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia and after making his karting debut in 2018, the “Bulgarian Lion”, as he is nicknamed, he rapidly made an impression by beating much more experienced drivers. Tsolov won the 2019 WSK Cup – Mini and finished second in the WSK Final Cup and third in the Champions of the Future in the OK class last year.
The Bulgarian driver is also an Alpine Affiliated Driver and recently signed with Fernando Alonso’s new management company, which is called A14 Management.
The new signing of Campos Racing is already working alongside Jenić, Kelstrup and Barter to prepare the 2022 season, which is set to kick off at Algarve International Circuit in support of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM).
Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “It makes us special pleasure to add Nikola (Tsolov) to our driver line-up. First, because he is one of the most promising karting drivers of the newest generation and his future in single-seater racing is bright.
I feel convinced we will be able to achieve success working together. And second, because he is a Fernando Alonso’s pupil and it means that Fernando is linked again to Campos Racing, which is a return to his former racing home. So, it gives us huge motivation. I have no doubts my father would have been extremely excited as well.”
