Tresor by Car Collection had a tougher-than-expected round at the 1000km of Paul Ricard that was the second round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup 2022.


The Italian outfit had good sensations on the eve of the weekend with the two lineups which were ready to confirm what was seen in the great Endurance debut in Imola. Axel Blom (FIN), Lorenzo Patrese (ITA) and Hugo Valente (FRA) exchanged behind the wheel of the #11 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 in Silver Cup, while Mattia Drudi (RSM), Luca Ghiotto (ITA) and Christopher Haase (GER) shared driving duties in the #12 car.



The high temperatures during the weekend made it trickier for the cars fielded by the team. The features of the circuit also suited better other cars, which did not help the drivers to show their full potential.



The initial free practice highlighted these critical aspects and the drivers put all their grit on track in qualifying. Drudi-Ghiotto-Haase ended the three sessions with an average time of 1’54.498s which qualified them in P8, while Blom-Patrese-Valente posted an average time of 1’55.506s and claimed P11 in Silver Cup.



The race started on Saturday at 18:00 and ended at midnight. Despite the race unfolding in the evening and night hours, the drivers experienced some difficulties to recover positions and had to use all their experience to maximize their performance in the mid-group battles especially overnight. Mattia Drudi, Luca Ghiotto and Christopher Haase crossed the finish line in P11, while Axel Blom, Lorenzo Patrese and Hugo Valente were 12th in Silver Cup.

We experienced some unexpected difficulties and, despite the great work of the whole team and drivers, we could not set our pace. The level of the championship is very high. We will keep our focus and will try to bounce back in the next race at Zandvoort”.
