World Championship general tests in Sarno

World Championship general tests in Sarno

28.07.2022: For the OK and OK Junior classes, the 2nd and final round of the WSK Euro Series scheduled from 27th to 31st July, will be a general test of the World Championship that will take place on September 18th.

For the OK and OK Junior classes, the 2nd and final round of the WSK Euro Series scheduled from 27th to 31st July, will be a general test of the World Championship that will take place on September 18th.

As in all WSK events, in addition to the direct drive classes, in which all the top drivers will compete, the program also includes the MINI and KZ categories.

The CRG Racing team will be there with 15 drivers, 8 of which competing in OK Junior: Scott Lindblom, Francisco Macedo, Sebastian Garzon Orozco, Nico Lanhalahti, Michael Ider, Gabriel Sano, Enzo Nienkotter and Nikolas Roos.

For everyone, the goal will be to work towards the September race and above all to achieve a good feeling with the circuit. In the OK class, Simone Bianco and the Brazilian Filippo Fiorentino will get on the track under the CRG colors and both will concentrate on working on the MG tires used in the race, which will be the same ones to be used in the World Championship.

The same three drivers who were also attending Round 1 in Lonato have been confirmed in the MINI class, with Oliver Rasmussen looking for a positive result that redeems the unlucky weekend in Lonato, while Jagrat Detroja and Antonio Macedo, with less experience, will aim to return between the 36 finalists.

Finally, there will be two CRG drivers in KZ where Paavo Tonteri will be joined by the new signing Arthur Carbonnel. For the French driver it will be a first contact with CRG technical material, in view of the World Championship in September, which will take place in France at Le Mans.

On the other hand, Iglesias, Irlando and Gustavsson will not be therein KZ, in addition to the Brazilians Gomez and Galli in OK, who will join the team at the end of August for the pre-World Championship tests, as programs for this category are concentrating on the preparation of the World Championship in France.

As for the program of the weekend, on Friday we will have qualifying practice and the first Heats, which will then continue throughout the day on Saturday. On Sunday, however, the Pre-Finals and Finals are scheduled and can be followed in live streaming on the website www.wskarting.it

CRG drivers’ expectations

Arthur Carbonnel (KZ):
"This race represents a sort of shakedown with CRG technical material for me and I can't wait to drive the iconic Road Rebel on this track. Obviously, my program will be very focused on acquiring a feeling with the technical material, with the team's working procedures and also to understand how my driving style adapts to the CRG chassis.

I am not thinking about the sporting result for this race because my goal will be to work exclusively in function of the World Championship in September, but the good level of the drivers here will help us to get feedback from the work done and if I manage to score a good placement on Sunday, I will certainly be happy".

Nikolas Roos (OK Junior):
"This race, as well as the one at the end of August on this track, will be very important to get ready from all points of view for the September World Championship and we will have to use every session to gain useful experiences in function of this goal.

In the last few tests I didn't find a good feeling with the track and I think I can still improve a lot for what concerns my driving, so I will also be able to better understand the set up and the technical choices to be made according to the race. I am very focused and determined to compete in this second part of the season, making use of all the experience gained so far, aiming to obtain some important results".

Oliver Rasmussen (MINI)
: “15 days ago during Round 1 of this WSK Series in Lonato we were fast, but my race was conditioned by the accident in the first Heat. We start from scratch here, but aware of having a good speed and a competitive chassis-engine package that allows us to fight with the best.

In the last tests I immediately found a good feeling with regards to driving, so I hope for a linear race without contacts and problems in order to be in a good position on the grid on Sunday and play our chance”.
