"Roar" Before the 24 Hours of Daytona: BMW M Hybrid V8 prototypes start from the fourth row

The "Roar before the 24", the traditional three-day test one week before the 24 Hours of Daytona (USA) ended on Sunday with the qualifying sessions that determined the starting grid for the 24-hour race.
The two BMW M Hybrid V8 prototypes finished the GTP session in seventh and eighth place and will tackle the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener from the fourth row of the grid.
BMW M factory drivers Philipp Eng (AUT) and Nick Yelloly (GBR) were at the wheel of the #24 and #25 cars, respectively, and BMW M Team RLL used the sessions to clock up as many kilometres as possible with the newly developed cars and gain valuable experience with an eye on the big challenge ahead.
Over the course of the test sessions, the BMW M Hybrid V8 ran without any major problems and preparations were able to proceed as planned. Next week, five more practice sessions will offer the opportunity to further improve the performance, drivability and reliability of the cars.
GTD qualifying ended with seventh place for Bill Auberlen (USA) in the #95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 in GTD PRO. The #96 sister car, driven by Robby Foley (USA), will start from twelfth place in the GTD class.
Just ahead of him, Madison Snow (USA) in the #1 BMW M4 GT3 of Paul Miller Racing was eleventh in the GTD session.
