Customers with all three of the TCR cars produced by Hyundai Motorsport scored strong results at the opening round of the TCR UK season at Snetterton (April 8-9).



Area Motorsport team-mates Bruce Winfield and Josh Files converted their front row starts into a 1-2 finish in Race 1, with Winfield taking the win in his i30 N TCR, ahead of the Files-driven Elantra N TCR.
 


Winfield was on the podium after Race 2 as well after finishing third, despite starting 10th on the partly-reversed grid. The result gave him the early championship lead.



He was joined on the podium by Customer Racing Junior Driver Alex Ley, who followed his fifth in Race 1 with an excellent second in the later contest in his Area Motorsport with Daniel James Motorsport-run i30 N TCR.



Alex’s fellow Junior Driver Bradley Kent narrowly missed out on a podium of his own in his Essex & Kent Motorsport Veloster N TCR as he finished fourth, completing the weekend with a good result after having been demoted from pole position in qualifying by a minor technical issue.
 


Race 2 finished with five Hyundai Motorsport customers in the top ten – Adam Shepherd (sixth) and Alastair Camp (tenth) completed that number, while JH Racing’s Callum Newsham brought his i30 N TCR up to 11th despite starting from the pitlane.
