Even though Hartmann Honda Racing’s touring cars won’t race in anger for a couple of months, the team behind James Thompson’s 2009 European Touring Car Cup win is in full progress with the preparations for the coming season, which will also see the Brit race one of its cars.
”Over the last month we have been negotiating with KW Suspension which produces dampers for racing among other things, and we have managed to make a deal, so that KW Suspension will become a technical partner for us,” team owner Hans Hartmann explains.
“We have been using KW Suspension’s product for the last couple of years, and earlier this month we had a meeting, where we discussed ways of working together for the coming season. The end result is a deal with a technical partnership, and that we are really glad to achieve.”
The deal with KW Suspension means that Hartmann Honda Racing apart from just using the German damper producer’s exquipment also will able to draw further on the company’s support and know how.
”With the new deal we will be getting access to some of KW Suspension’s testing facilities, while we also be benefiting from the development work that they make,” Hans Hartmann explains. “But I do also believe that KW Suspension will be gaining from working together with us. Last year we were the team that achieved the best results with Honda’s Accord, so I am quite convinced that the data and the experience that we have gathered, will also benefit KW Suspension.”
There are still a number of issues to finalized, before Hartmann Honda Racing’s 2010 programme can be set in stone. The team is currently in negotiation with several potential drivers to partner James Thompson, who will be having his third season for the Danish team.

It was hot - very hot. Early in the morning the track temperature was high predicting unpleasent conditions when the DTC-cars would hit the track.
In the middle of the afternoon the gauge reached 53.5 degree celsius which made the tarmac very soft in the paddock but more importnt raised the concerns about motor temperature during line-up and close position fights.
