08:52 Bikes: The race stops at CP2!
It's raining cats and dogs right now, making the course extremely slippery and dangerous, so the organisers have decided to stop the motorcycle race at CP2, 101 km into today's special. Most riders have reached this point, with the top riders in the general classification further back.
08:50 Bikes: Jakes leads at CP1
Ivan Jakes is on a good streak and has clocked the fastest time at CP1. The Slovak was 7 seconds faster than Laia Sanz and 10 seconds quicker than Olivier Pain.
08:23 Bikes: Caution, slippery floor
The rain has made a great part of today's stage very slippery. As a result, motorcycle riders have grouped together and are riding slowly in procession. The general classification leaders will soon take the start.
08:14 Bikes: Rodrigues and Barreda waiting for Gonçalves
Joan Barreda and Hélder Rodrigues have also been at a standstill near the start of the special for quite a while. They're waiting for Paulo Gonçalves in order to escort the Honda rider and assist him should he run into trouble in today's final stage.
08:07 Bikes: Przygonski working on his motorcycle
KTM rider Jakub Przygonski's run into trouble just two kilometres into today's special after suffering a mechanical. The Pole, sitting 18th overall, just wants to make it to the finish now.
07:56 Bikes: State of play at CP1
The first twenty riders have gone through CP1, painting an unusual picture due to the reverse start order. Laurent Lazard holds the fastest time at 34 km ahead of Melchior van Heertum.
07:34 Bikes: Start in reverse order
Anar Chinbataar is the first rider to start the 174 km final special of the rally. The Mongol is dead last in the general classification, but he'll have the honour of opening the way in today's stage, in which the start is given according to the general classification in reverse order.
07:22 Bikes: Malles-Moto still in the race
Seven riders are still in the race in the Malles-Moto category. These amateurs take part in the Dakar 'the old-fashioned way', without any assistance throughout the 9,308 km rally. Thomas Berglund leads the category with one day to go and sits in a fantastic 23rd place overall.
16:53 : The final straight
With a lead of 17 minutes over Paulo Gonçalves, Marc Coma will be chiefly focused on avoiding mistakes on the 174 km special that remains on the Dakar 2015 after more than 9,000 km covered. A fifth outright victory on the Dakar awaits the KTM rider, bringing him level with the amount won by Cyril Despres when riding for the same Austrian constructor.
In the car race, Nasser Al-Attiyah boasts a lead of 35 minutes over second placed Giniel de Villiers and therefore, if he manages to avoid mechanical problems, should claim a second title on the Dakar this evening.
16:49 : Stage 13: Rosario – Buenos Aires
None of the riders and drivers on the Dakar will consider victory a foregone conclusion until they have completed this final day, not without reason, since each year at least one vehicle exits the race on the final stage.
On the fast tracks included in the programme for the special, caution will have to be exercised, even by those who do not have a position to defend, because for everybody the podium and finishing ceremony that awaits the giants of the 2015 edition at the Technopolis site in Buenos Aires will be the big thrill that they have come to the continent to seek.
