12:16 Cars: Vasilyev quickest out of the blocks
Vladimir Vasilyev, sixth in the general standings, has been the quickest to set the pace by taking the lead after 85 km, ahead of Bernhard Ten Brinke and Orlando Terranova.
11:21 Cars: Al-Attiyah starts the special
Several minutes ahead of schedule, Nasser Al-Attiyah has kicked off proceedings for the car special. The Qatari is aiming for a sixth stage win on the Dakar 2015 in Rosario.
-4:53 Cars: Plain sailing for Al-Attiyah
In full control since the start of the rally, Nasser Al-Attiyah approaches the penultimate stage full of confidence as the boss of the rally. The Qatari can content himself with managing his lead in the general standings, but will of course be a serious candidate for the stage victory, just like Orlando Terranova or even Stéphane Peterhansel, who is keen to avoid leaving this year’s Dakar without a triumph to his name…
