· Förderkonzept mit insgesamt 82.000 Euro Preisgeld
Mit dem Ford Sportpokal 2008" ruft der Kölner Automobilhersteller ein neuartiges Förderprogramm für den Motorsport ins Leben. Anders als klassische Markenpokale legt sich dieses Konzept nicht auf ein spezielles Rennformat fest, sondern schließt sämtliche vom Deutschen Motor Sport Bund (DMSB) genehmigten Renn-, Rallye- und Slalom-Wettbewerbe ein.
Wesentlichste Grundvoraussetzung: Die Teilnehmer müssen mit einem Ford ab Baujahr 2003 an den Start gehen.
Gewertet werden dabei die Klassenergebnisse eines Fahrers beziehungsweise des von mehreren Piloten eingesetzten Fahrzeugs. Die Punktvergabe erfolgt nach einer speziellen Formel, die den Schwierigkeitsgrad der einzelnen Veranstaltung über Multiplikatoren berücksichtigt. Beispiele: Der Höchstfaktor 3 gilt für das 24- Stunden-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring. Punkte aus der ADAC Procar-Serie gehen 2,5-fach in die Wertung ein.
Ergebnisse aus Deutschen Meisterschaften und der BFGoodrich-Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring werden mit Faktor 2 gewertet. Für Trophies, Pokale, Cups und Challenges wird der Multiplikator 1,5 zu Grunde gelegt, alle anderen Serien zählen einfach.
In die Endwertung gehen die bis zum 31. Oktober 2008 gesammelten Punkte ein, der Sieger erhält den Ford Sportpokal". Insgesamt schüttet die Marke 82.000 Euro an Preisgeldern aus von 23.000 Euro für den Erstplatzierten bis hin zu 1.000 Euro für den Zehnten.

Dass die Idee des Ford Sportpokals von den Teams sehr gut angenommen wird, zeigen die bereits vorliegenden Einschreibungen aus ADAC Procar, BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring, Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring und der Deutschen Rallycross Meisterschaft. Weitere Teilnehmer werden aus den Disziplinen Slalom und Rallye erwartet, was auch die vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten der jüngeren Ford-Modelle widerspiegelt.
