With just 30 days remaining before the 20th running of the "Classic and Sportscar" Magazine supported Classic Action Day at Castle Combe, classic owners' clubs are rushing to take advantage of great deals on offer from the circuit, including free display space and entry tickets to this popular event.
Adding to the interest this year will be the celebration of Ford's victory at the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours Race, with a re-enactment of the start. Around 25 cars are expected to take part, including GT40 Replicas, Ferrari P4 Replicas, Marcos Minis and ADU 1B, the Le Mans Triumph Spitfire.
These cars will feature in a major display in the centre of the Paddock, before taking to the circuit for the Le Mans start demonstration at 2pm, to coincide with the start in France of the actual Le Mans race, which celebrates its 100th anniversary year.
Among 60 clubs booked so far for the Classic Action Day are Austin A35, Austin Healey, Classic Corvettes, Marcos, Jaguar Enthusiasts, Honda S800, Mercedes Benz, MG, MX5, Porsche, Scimitar, Triumph Stag and TVR, which will provide great displays while many of their members take to the circuit.
As an added incentive this year, the organisers are looking for the club with the best Le Mans display. They will be rewarded with 25 free tickets for the Classic
Race Meeting in August (worth over £350) and will be awarded the coveted Club Stand of the Show award. Although not historically correct, to add to the fun of the day, organisers are on the lookout for a Steve McQueen lookalike and will post an award for the best 1960s dresser.
Only a very limited amount of space is left for clubs who wish to apply, although classic owners can still take advantage of the track time at just £25 per session plus admission charges, by booking in advance and saving pounds.

"Bizarre. Sagit-il dun moulin à café? Non, dune machine à tondre? ?" Il ne sagit pas dune pièce de Ionesco mais des interrogations des habitants de la pittoresque ville de Spa.
