Maximum sportive ballast for the reigning champion Thomas Biagi
After the rounds in Valencia and Portimao, valid for the International classification, the Superstars Series will be on track from Friday on in Misano Adriatico for the fourth round of the season, valid for the Italian Championship only.
In the season opener held in Monza at the beginning of April, the only one run so far in the tricolored championship, the reigning champion Thomas Biagi obtained thirteen points with great determination on a circuit not suiting his M3 BMW which allowed him to reach the sixth place of the classification.
After the recent success in Portimao for the International Series, the driver for Team BMW Italy will have 60kg sportive ballast on board his car and will therefore have a further rival in the additional weight in this occasion.
Thomas Biagi:
"Misano is a circuit that I like even if I never raced there after the renew works that changed the lap direction. We will come back here in a bit more than a month time for the International Series and with two rounds available I will have the chance to get to know the circuit very well in this configuration new to me. I also had my first test on a single seater on this track therefore coming back to Misano gives always a special feelng to me.
The 60kg sportive ballast will be, considering the reason why I will have them, a happy mate. With the 15kg imposed by the performance balance my M3 BMW will be 75kg heavier than in Portiamo, that is three quarters of a quintal: this will probably make it difficult to fight for the victory but certainly not to fight for points.
Due to the proximity of the sea and the concomitance of the 2 June holiday, I'd like to invite all the fans to spend a few hours at the circuit next Sunday: I am sure the spectacle offered by the Superstars Series will be once again top class".
