Für eine Überraschung sorgt zu Beginn der Rennsportsaison 2008 Raffi Bader. Der junge Fricktaler startet im Rahmen des Porsche Sports Cup auf einem Porsche 997 GT3.
Nach nur einem Jahr im Seat Leon Supercopa wagt der Eidgenosse nun den Wechsel in das Traumauto vieler Rennpiloten. Mit einer Leistung von weit mehr als 400 Pferdestärken unter dem riesigen Heckflügel und dem unverwechselbaren 6-Zylinder Boxerklang ist der Zuffenhausener Rennbolide auch für Raffi Bader das Nonplusultra. "Das Auto macht einfach Spaß zu fahren und bei dem Sound stehen mir grad die Haare zu Berge", schwärmt er für sein neues Gefährt.
Seine ersten Eindrücke vom Porsche sammelte Raffi Bader bei Tests im französischen Le Castellet. "Das Fahrverhalten zum Seat Leon ist schon total anders. Der Seat hatte Frontantrieb, während der Porsche all seine Kraft auf die Hinterräder bringt.
So kämpft man immer mit einem gewissen Übersteuern und muss beim Beschleunigen aus den Kurven den Gasfuß mit Verstand einsetzen, sonst hat man dank der Drifts schon zur Mitte des Rennens seine Reifen ruiniert", weiß der 19-Jährige nach zwei Tagen in Frankreich zu berichten. Auch das späte Bremsen will mit dem neuen Fahrzeug gelernt sein: "Beim Bremsen mit Zwischengas den Motor auf Touren zu halten, ist ebenfalls neu für mich und erst noch in den gewohnten Ablauf einzuüben."
Die Renneinsätze im Porsche Sports Cup bestreitet er zusammen und unter der Betreuung seines neuen Teams Fach Auto Tech GmbH, das in Sattel in der Zentralschweiz ansässig ist. "Ich freue mich riesig über das Angebot von Alex Fach, meinem neuen Teamchef, dass er mir einen Start mit dem Porsche ermöglicht."
Im Hinblick auf die Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten ist auch der Sports Cup, in dem vor allem ambitionierte Piloten des Porsche Club Sports ins Lenkrad greifen, interessant für Bader. "Das Renngerät ist wirklich äußerst komplex und das Rahmenprogramm, in dem es ausschließlich um Porsche-Fahrzeuge geht, bietet mir eine sehr gute Lern-Plattform. Mein Ziel ist, mich 2008 gut darzustellen. Ich bin sehr zuversichtlich - vielleicht ist ja sogar ein Sieg drin."

Clark eager for season opener at Brands Hatch this weekend

Kieren Clark, the 19 year old Cambridge based youngster, is eager to kick off his season at the Brands Hatch opener this coming weekend, 22nd and 23rd March.
The double header will see qualifying on the Indy circuit Saturday, with the 2 races on Sunday, alongside the British Touring Car Championship rounds, so there are sure to be big crowds for the series opener.
