Course 1 Formula Renault 2.0 Italia : Michele Faccin facile
Bien parti depuis la pole, Michele Faccin na pas été inquiété durant la demi heure de la première course de ces Spa Euro Race réservée aux jeunes loups de la Formula Renault 2.0 italienne. Augmentant son avance au fil des passages, lItalien sest imposé avec 7 secondes davance sur le Norvégien et leader du championnat Pal Varhaug, Nicky Sebastiani, un autre Transalpin, complétant le podium dans léchappement de la deuxième monoplace de Jenzer Motorsport.
Derrière ce tiercé inchangé du premier au dernier tour, le Brésilien Cesar Ramos, auteur dun mauvais départ, a mis 6 tours à récupérer sa quatrième place initiale au terme dune belle bagarre avec lEspagnol Siso Cunill finalement devancé aussi par Adrian Quaife-Hobbs.

Course 2 Dutch Supercar Challenge : Euser avant le chaos à Blanchimont
Prévue sur une durée dune heure plus un tour, la première manche du Dutch Supercar Challenge aura duré à peine un quart dheure. Le temps dassister à une superbe bagarre entre trois bolides de catégories fort différentes avec l' Audi TTR DTM du poleman Ardi Van der Hoek, la Marcos LM600 de Cor Euser et la Mosler MT900 de Kevin Riley.
Après quelques tours seulement, Euser et son monstre fluo passaient facilement lAudi DTM dans la ligne droite des Combes et filait, sans le savoir, vers la victoire. Après un quart dheure, alors que la course était pourtant neutralisée depuis cinq bonnes minutes derrière une safety car cherchant le leader, un gros carton impliquant six à sept voitures se produisait en effet au niveau de Blanchimont quand la Lamborghini Gallardo du poleman en Britcar Paul Hogarth, inscrit en dernière minute et parti en queue de peloton, se faisait surprendre et percutait la safety car roulant au ralenti.
En feu sur la piste, la Lambo provoquait la pagaille au sein du peloton, tandis que plusieurs voitures se percutaient en voulant éviter les épaves. La direction de course brandissait directement le drapeau rouge pour arrêter une course qui ne repartira pas.
Le classement après 6 tours (course annulée 75% de la distance nayant pas été parcourue: 1. Euser (P-B/Marcos LM600) ; 2. Van der Hoek (P-B/Audi TTR DTM) à 0.953 ; 3. Riley-Flux (GB/Mosler MT900) à 1.074; 4. De Graaf (P-B/Viper SRT10) à 7.937; 5. Snel (P-B/Porsche Twin Turbo) à 20.123 6. Short (GB/Mosler MT900) à 20.663 ; 7. Van Buuren-Pastoreli (P-B/VW Passat V8 Star) à 36.530
Course 3 Formule 3 espagnole: Un premier succès De Marco
Pourtant seulement quatrième sur la grille de départ, lItalien Nicola De Marco a remporté un brillant succès lors de la première joute de Formule 3 espagnole. Au départ, le jeune Français Nelson Panciatici surprenait le poleman Will Bratt qui se loupait encore aux Combes ce dont profitait Di Marco pour boucler le premier tour en deuxième position.
Et après quatre rondes dobservation, lItalien portait une attaque imparable sur un Panciatici qui ne pouvait résister ensuite au= etour de Le Gris et de Bratt lui faisant lintérieur à Blanchimont. Très chaud, le poleman se battait jusquau dernier mètre mais lordre du podium ne changeait plus avec dans lordre Di Marco, le Gris et Bratt.
Le classement : 1. De Marco (Ita), 12 tours, 2. Le Gris (GB) à 0.731 ; 3. Bratt (GB) à 1.569 ; 4. Panciatici (Fra) à 2.758 ; 5. Yacaman (Col) à 9.651 ; 6. Mendez (Esp) à 11.228
Course 4 GT Open : La Ferrari de Fassler-Moser sur du velours
Véritable clou du spectacle de cette première journée de courses des Spa Euro Race, la première manche du GT Open a vu la victoire indiscutable de la Ferrari 430 GT2 du Suisse le plus rapide de la planète Marcel Fassler et de son équipier gentleman Henri Moser, sacré champion en GT3 lan dernier.
Sur une piste encore mouillée suite à une averse, les meilleurs pilotes faisaient demblée la différence et seul lex-pilote de F1 Andrea Montermini sur la Ferrari 430 Scu= ria Playteam parvenait à saccrocher au rythme endiablé du véloce Fassler, dernier lauréat des 24H de Spa.
Obligé de patienter 15 secondes de plus dans le stand (une pénalité infligée selon les résultats de la dernière course), le leader du championnat Michele Maceratesi parvenait néanmoins à conserver le premier accessit au terme dune heure de course, la 430 GT2 de Bontempelli-Cressoni complétant un podium 100% Ferrari en résistant in-extremis au retour de la Porsche de Richard Lietz. Relayant le modeste (au volant !) Gianluca Roda, 18e sur la grille, lAutrichien, auteur du meilleur tour en course, fut lauteur dune magnifique remontée de la 11e à la 4e place.
En GTS, traduction espagnole de nos GT3, la victoire revenait à la Lamborghini Gallardo de Giacomo Piccini (petit frère dAndrea), superbe 4e au général dans les conditions difficiles du début de course, et de Enrico Moncada.
